The Associated Press, built on the bedrock of newspapers, is finding itself less tied to them as a revenue stream. At the same time, newspapers are finding themselves looking for a way, any way, to cut expenses. This puts the two in conflict and highlights the economics of this industry.

Though not directly related, Michael Mann's "The Insider" provides an interesting cinematic perspective on true events regarding journalistic ethics, integrity, and dependence on financial stability.
Its also a mighty fine way to get our class geared up for some hard-hitting post-202 reporting.
