Is it plagiarism?

What do you think of this? Did the reporter plagiarize? Or was he just lazy in picking up facts from a previously published piece? Is there a difference?

If you read the excerpts from both stories, it is hard to deny that this is plagiarism. In some passages, he's hardly even reworded the original story.

haha yea, that was BAD! I can't believe someone who won all kinds of awards thought he could get away with this.

I don't understand why someone so accomplished would so blatantly copy someone else's work. I can't even imagine being in such a spot where I thought it was a good idea.

I don't understand either... with all of the technology available today it's so easy to spot plagiarism from a University's where only the professor sees a student's paper let alone a well known magazine with high readership, clearly someone's going to notice. It just seems either really desperate or really naive to me...

It is most definitely plagarism. Are you kidding me? He uses the same phrases. Why would he think he could get away with this?
