Super Bowl Ads

So we didn't have much time to chat yesterday about the advertising bonanza that is the Super Bowl. Which ads did you like? Which did you hate? Which do you think have the greatest effect? And what about the Richard Simmons spot ... was it insensitive?
More on ads. It's Super Tuesday. What are you reading about candidates' ads? I'm getting a lot of that kind of traffic on Facebook, especially notes about this piece in support of Obama. Curious how this is playing with your generation.

Personally, I liked the E*Trade ads with the baby the most. They silenced the room while I was watching with my friends. I find it interesting that this particular site doesn't rank the ads according to viewers' ratings. After all, they are the targeted consumer.

As Super Tuesday looms, I don't think there is an overwhelming amount of campaign ads on TV. The Obama clip was sent to me in an e-mail from my older sister, who also supports him. This type of circulation seems to only reach those who are already in support of him. People seek out the clip, because they are interested in him, or are sent it, usually because the sender knows they already support him. The message doesn't seem to target undecided voters, at least in large numbers.

Although I didn’t think the commercial was that funny, the Diet Pepsi Max ad with “What is Love” by Haddaway caught my attention because I haven’t heard that song since elementary school. Speaking of the elections, I just read that Hillary Clinton loaned $5 million of her own money to her campaign, and Obama started airing his ads in the upcoming primary states (Virginia, Nebraska, Maryland, Maine) before Hillary.
