Pranking in Wrigleyville

The Chicago Tribune had a little fun at the Sun-Times' expense, and some people don't like it. They don't like it very much at all. The staffer responsible defends his choices, and most coverage has highlighted it as a prank.
Is it ethical?

As a daily subscriber to the Trib and a Chicago resident, I have always thought it to be the superior Chicagoland paper and this recent jab at the Sun Times only shows they can be witty as well as talented reporters.

I think the Katie, the intern who produced the video, has a good sense of humor, as do the folks at the Sun Times. I think for people to compare the prank to the Sun Times 1977 investigation of city inspectors is a big stretch. It's pretty harmless fun and I think if the Sun Times is willing to publish an article that concludes "Katie! Come get your money," they find it pretty harmless as well.
